Beagle

Beagle

Beagles come in two basic sizes.

Some are about 13 inches tall or under and weigh about 18 pounds (eight kilograms); the second size group is from 13 to 15 inches in height and weighs about 20 pounds (nine kilograms).

Beagles are muscular, solid dogs with a slightly domed skull. Their muzzle is squarish and the nose broad. Ears are long and droopy. Their chest is deep, back is straight and they have a moderately long tail that is carried high. The breed's smooth, dense coat is usually black, tan, and white.

Personality:

Beagles make wonderful family pets, with loving personalities and an eagerness for attention. Yet without company or proper training they may become restless, howling to express their needs while potentially expressing frustration through destructive behavior. Moreover, these jubilant dogs have a tendency to bark more than other breeds making them less ideal in certain households such as apartments where quiet is desired.

Living With:

Standing tall on their sturdy legs, Beagles are an active and inquisitive breed with the tendency to explore. Despite how endearing they may be when snuggling up for a nap or two in bed, it's important that these curious canines remain safe - whether being supervised by humans during leisurely strolls or securely fenced within backyard boundaries.

Beagles make great family pets, with their small size and friendly disposition. However, if you're looking for a four-legged security system in your home - look elsewhere! These canines are lighthearted pups who'll likely just wag their tails at the sight of any unwelcome visitors.

With its glossy smooth coat, the beagle is a delightfully low-maintenance pup! Its short fur requires minimal fuss for grooming and only occasional baths. However if you don't keep an eye on their caloric intake they may end up with puppy plumpness - which could cut into this breed's typical life expectancy of 12 years.

History:

Beloved by people around the globe, beagles have been part of our lives for centuries! This hardy breed has a long history that is said to date all the way back to as early as 1400s. A testament to their charm and gentle disposition, these loyal companions have made themselves right at home in households far and wide.

Beagles, those beloved floppy-eared friends and devoted companions to humans around the world today, boast a storied past full of intrigue! These pooches are descended from hounds used in packs by Medieval hunters on foot throughout England, Wales & France. An especially tiny variety referred to as "pocket beagles" was ridden along with horseback huntin' parties - due their small size that allowed them to ride along cozily tucked into someone's pocket for easy transport. Today known best for rabbit hunting amongst other furry critters like jackals or wild pigs; these popular pups have certainly come a long way since their days spent accompanying royal huntsmen centuries ago.

Although some beagles are still used individually or in packs for hunting, most beagles today are lovable house pets.
